These projects were some of the most challenging I have encountered and it was a big learning experience. I totally underestimated the scope of the projects and ended up putting many more hours into them than I anticipated. I also learned that if I’m not going to do the development of a website, then I need to let the person doing it also handle the project management, since I have no control over their process. And while the client and I parted ways at the end of the projects, the final projects turned out really great.
The manual was over 500 pages. The scripting manual was over 200 pages. Both had custom tabs. Gift Certificates were also created.
Client: Izakaya Sushi
This project presented some challenges since the owner is Korean and has limited English. Though the restaurant didn’t opt to use their service, I want to give a shout out to Sunny Kimm of Eat24Hour.com, who often spoke to the restaurant owner, translating my messages.
Name: Gambia Help
URL: http://gambiahelp.org/wordpress/ (this is a temporary URL – when content if completed by copy writer, it will change to http://gambiahelp.org)
Besides the website redesign, I also improved their logo. One of the challenges was due to the director having to fly to Gambia, where internet access was spotty and communication was difficult.
